Shaggy's Make a Difference Foundation presented $70 million to the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston

International recording artiste Shaggy presented a cheque of $70 million to the head of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care department of the Bustamante Children Hospital for Children, Dr. Lambert Innis in Kingston recently.  Proceeds from his recent Shaggy and Friends concert held January 4.

The Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation is in it's 10th year and have been instrumental in helping to make the Bustamante for Children hospital in Kingston fully equipped to serve the need of Jamaican children.  For the better part of eight years, Shaggy made personal donations that includes the installation of well needed equipments such as two (2) ventilators, Electroencephalogram (EEG) machine, Table Top Sterilizing machine as well as funded the upgrade of the Medical Oxygen System, funded the beautification of the Administrative block and collaborated with Scotia Bank Jamaica to create a park and recreation area on the hospital's compounds.

The $70 million donation are proceeds from his recent Shaggy and Friends concert that was held in Kingston and this year will help to furnish the new ICU/cardiac ward working in partnership with Chain Of Hope Jamaica, a group of volunteer doctors and nurses who perform surgeries each year on our children with heart problems.  Currently in Jamaica over 500 children are born each year with heart defects click here for more info
