Dance Craze!

One of the most popular dance moves on the Jamaican Dancehall scenes at this time is a dance called, Cow Foot.  Many have criticized the moves of the dance but in so doing it got sooo popular some persons were like WTH!! To add to that was a bit of controversy behind it as well as another artiste claimed he owned the move but whatever..

Trillo on the other hand has got a new dance and no! he did not choreograph the move it's his dance (no controversy), one he does when out having a good time with friends.  Guess what?  The dance has a name, it's called the BARB WIRE!!! OMG Let's go rocking with Trillo doing, THE BARB WIRE DANCE check it!

Music and the Age Factor!

What happens when an artiste surpasses age 35 and still look forward to getting his/her big break?  Reggae artiste Coppa Ranks says, “Reggae is old yet babies love it so it matters not who sings as long as the music is nice and sends the right message the artiste have a chance.”  Having said that, Coppa Ranks still has high hopes of touring the world, he released his first song in 1990 at age 17 and took a 3 years break from music to pursue other dreams.  He has now resurfaced with new songs, Temple of the Lord and A No Me She Love on the AdisAbaba Production label; both songs are getting airplay on radio stations Irie FM, News Talk 93FM and Mello FM in Montego Bay.
Coppa has also been busy with gigs, he has performed at Club Cali in August as well as the Hague and Mt. Pelia Agricultural shows, an Independent Concert held in the square of Falmouth in Trelawny and a Hair & Fashion Show held at the Civic Centre in Montego Bay, headlined by Jamaica's Reggae Soul singer, Richie Stephens since the start of the year.
Coppa Ranks is not worried about teenage fans, he has accepted the fact that his music is not the trendy Dancehall style.  However he is quite confident that a more mature audience will accept his style and can relate to his lyrics because he shares his experience in his music.  “Age becomes a factor when you make, right now Coppa Ranks is not worried about that it’s actually the people who decide so my job is to ensure they get a chance to hear what I have to say.”  Coppa Ranks is on social network spaces facebook and myspace and his  music will soon be available for download at all digital download ‘e-trade’ stores. Click to view Coppa Ranks & Reggae Artiste Daville

Both Sophia Squire and Macka diamond have been nominated in
the 2011 Music Industry Awards.  Macka Diamond in the Best Female DJ of the Year category and Squire in the Best Female Vocalist of the Year.  The Music Industry Awards ceremony takes place September 27th, 2011 at The Hotel Four Seasons in Kingston, Good luck guys.

Since dropping Nuh Trust People track Dancehall artiste Bramma has been up and about touring with Elephant Man, recording in studios or making some short trips to the United States to promote his brand.  He's got his birthday coming up soon and is thinking about doing something but refuse to say what it is.  So the Bramma fans should be on the look out it might just be an invitation only!!  BTW check out The New Bramma Mix

Album Bells R Ringing!
With the trending digital music sale picking up nicely; independent artistes have bought into the digital mania making good of the facilities available. Reggae artiste Nesbeth is yet to release an album but has noticeably gotten into some production, has been picky with rhytmns and seem to be searching for crossover type material to record.  Songs recorded have been held back and the artiste has been tight lipped about reinvention plans for his career that has been swirling around.  It seems there could be an album coming soon but we just gotta wait and see yeah!

It has become quite evident that Macka Diamond on the other hand is compiling an album.  There are talks about clearance, several new songs already recorded have been held back for mixing and mastering and much buzz and activities taking place to suggest that the Dancehall Diamond is dropping an album soon.  Soca, hardcore dancehall, dance songs, lovers rock!! what will this album be like, wait and see.

New comer Trillo already announced that he will be dropping his album.  When? Your guess is as good as mine but management has gotten two tracks uploaded and available on itunes and all digital etailers.  Trillo fuses pop with reggae and dancehall and has shown from current releases that he can be flexible with topics and rhythm, will he bring a new vibe? Maybe.
