RUFFI-ANN NOMINATED IN TWO CATEGORIES FOR EME!!
Known as Lady Shabba back in the 90’s Ruffi-Ann was an aggressive artiste who often time displays her bad attitude on and off the stage. This was her way of venting her frustration or rebelling against the harsh treatment she received from trying to make an impact on the local music industry. Her boisterousness brought about in clashes across the island was humorous to many fans and created a name somewhat but Ruffi-Ann wanted more. In 2007 the mother of three lovely kids, penned the lyrics to a song entitled ‘Save the juvenile” which became almost an instant hit. The song suited her, she felt good about it and decides then that this is the direction in which she intends to steer her career. Since then Ruff-Ann released several conscious Reggae/Dancehall tracks to include; Ghetto Youths Unite, Don't Leave You Condom, Enemy Dem and her most current, Nuh Work Nuh Deh. Her efforts never went unnoticed as she is nominated in two categories, Biggest Comeback Artiste and Singjay of the Year (female) for the 2010 EME Awards. The determined and hard working Sharon “Ruffi-Ann” Peterkin and other artistes with the same temperament she displays are an inspiration to others and the lesson to be learnt from their relentless efforts is that its never over until its over.
NESBETH NOMINATED SINGJAY OF YEAR FOR EME 2010 AWARDS!
Nesbeth promotional plan for 2009 was to get his image and music out to a broader market, create hits and launch a campaign that will enhance his chances of getting more shows in the United States, the Caribbean and Europe. Nesbeth also did several interviews backstage prior to his performances and got a chances to visit as well as sit in over ten (10) live radio inteviews in and around the city. Among his list of acheivements, Nesbeth landed an exclusive interview which led to a centre spread and cover feature in the October issue of New York base Gorgeous Magazine. On his return to the island Nesbeth press on with the promotion with the focus on radio and “Drive By”, Jan Biggs Production single. In november he got settled in the studios where he commenced work on two (2) releases for the Christmas holidays. Drive By did well and is still lingering on a number of local charts, the single is said to be "an anthem" on Metro FM in Kenya. Nesbeth released two (2) singles as promised “A Nuh Suh Mi Waan Live” and Question in the midst of the Christmas season, he performed on a number of local events including STING 2009 and ended his year on a positive note.
